Neumünster Abbey

The conference will take place 1 to 5 December 2025 at Neumünster Abbey (Centre Culturel de Rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster, CCRN), in the historic Grund quarter of Luxembourg City.

Nestled along the Alzette river and framed by UNESCO World Heritage fortifications, Neumünster Abbey combines centuries of history with modern facilities for cultural and academic events. Its spacious halls, cloisters, and courtyards provide a unique atmosphere for both formal sessions and informal networking.

Getting there from the Central Station

Neumünster Abbey lies in the Grund valley, about two kilometres from Luxembourg Central Station.

Walking there takes around twenty minutes and is a pleasant way to discover the city. From the station you can head straight up Avenue de la Liberté to the city centre and cross into the old town. From the Place du St. Esprit, an elevator brings you directly down into the Grund, just a few minutes from the Abbey. If you prefer a scenic route, you can descend along the Chemin de la Corniche, with views of the Alzette river and the valley below.

Public transport offers an even quicker connection. The most convenient choice is bus line 23, which runs frequently from the Central Station to Grund, Bréck. From the stop at the bridge it is only a short walk across the Alzette to the Abbey entrance. As a secondary option, other city buses also serve the Grund or Clausen districts, but line 23 to Grund, Bréck provides the most direct and reliable access for conference participants.

Whether you choose to walk through the upper city and descend into the valley, or take one of the frequent buses, the journey is simple and gives you a first impression of Luxembourg’s mixture of historic fortifications and modern infrastructure. And since all buses, trams and trains are free throughout the country, you can decide on the spot which option suits you best.

Getting there by car

If you are arriving by car, the most convenient option is the Parking St. Esprit, located above the Grund. From there, the public elevator connects you directly down into the valley, just a short walk from Neumünster Abbey.

As an alternative, you can use the Parking Clausener Brücke in the neighbouring district of Clausen, which also provides access to the Grund via a short walk along the river.

Please note that the immediate surroundings of the Abbey are largely pedestrian, so direct parking at the venue itself is not recommended.
